About Barloworld - 3

Generally, within the Industrial Equipment and Services, and Rental and Leasing business there is minimal consumption or use of raw materials given the nature of current operations, products, and services. Within these segments materials are sourced from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), principals and other suppliers and used to support the retail and service nature of these operations.

Ingrain, acquired in November 2020, is Africa’s largest producer of unmodified and modified starch, glucose and related products and produce a wide range of high-quality products for customers across Africa and around the world using maize as raw material. In addition to maize as the key ingredient, the manufacturing process inputs includes chemical, packaging, water, and energy. Energy and water consumption is recorded and reported in the consolidated Barloworld data. While chemical and packaging product consumption is included in the reported data below.

Consideration is being given to the integration of reporting systems between Barloworld group and Ingrain to allow for more efficient and accurate reporting.

Materials that have a high impact on the environment are monitored. Steps have been taken to consider more environmentally friendly products and materials where available.
